Cosy up to a Good Book

by Isolde Rosevear on 2025-02-03T10:00:00+07:00 | 0 Comments

The snow may not be falling here in Hanoi, but there's definitely a chill in the air! In this weather, books are the perfect companion to a woolly sweater and a cozy blanket. February is the perfect time to cozy up to a good book.

Our Genres of the Month, Realistic Fiction and Romance, bring you stories filled with life’s joys, struggles, and relationships—perfect for Valentine’s season. And remember, Valentine’s Day is also a time to celebrate friendships and the people who matter most. Our Realistic Fiction collection features stories that explore deep friendships, personal growth, and the connections that shape our lives.

February is also Black History Month, also known as African-American History Month. It is a time to recognize the achievements, struggles, and contributions of Black individuals around the world. While this event is widely observed in the U.S., its themes—justice, resilience, and equality—are relevant everywhere. Learning about Black history helps us understand diverse perspectives, challenge stereotypes, and appreciate the global fight for human rights. This month, we’re highlighting powerful nonfiction books that celebrate Black voices, culture, and activism. Stop by the library to find your next great read!

Find all of this month’s recommendations on the Senior Library home page.

Genres of the Month: Realistic Fiction and Romance
